Red Ribbon Club Govt. Degree College Doda observed World AIDS Day

Srinagar: Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with Dept. of Zoology Govt. Degree College Doda and Red cross along with NCC organized World AIDS Day 2022 with the theme of “Equalize” under the presidentship of Principal GDC Doda Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal. Program began with the introductory speech cum welcome address by Prof. Ankush Raj HOD Computer Application and Convener Red Ribbon Club GDC Doda. Principal GDC Doda, in his presidential address congratulated the Red Ribbon Club along with those who collaborated for organizing this wonderful and much needed event and impressed upon the students to take the syndromes like AIDS seriously and be aware about such untreatable diseases. Lecture and open symposium were the main components of the programme.
Dr.Ajaz Ahmed wani ,Head Dept.of Zoology in his keynote lecture addressed the different dimensions of the current theme in his lecture to increase the knowledge of audience to much extent. The awareness about the disease in terms of cause, symptoms, transmission, prevention, treatment, vaccination, present status and other aspects made the program interesting and successful. An open quiz followed the lecture. Many questions asked in the program enriched the awareness on AIDS and about 15 students got the prizes for replying correct answers. Whole event was coordinated by Prof.Imteyaz Ahmed dept.of zoology. The questions of quiz were prepared by Dr. Neelam Saba from Deptt. of Zoology GDC Doda .Many faculty members namely Prof. K. K Manhas, Dr Anayat Ullah Wani, Prof. Mohd Ashraf, Prof. Zain Butt, Dr Neelam Saba, Dr Tabassum Saleem, Dr Munish Kumar and others were present in the program. Program ended with the vote of thanks by Dr Jagmohan Sharma, Head Dept. of Hindi GDC Doda.
