KVK Shopian holds valedictory function of training programme on Mushroom Cultivation

Srinagar: KVK Shopian organised a valedictory function of the week long training programme for rural youth titled “Entrepreneurship Development through Mushroom Cultivation” sponsored by Ministry of MSME, GOI on 29th of November 2022 at training hall of district employment cum counselling centre Shopian.
Prof.Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Director Extension SKUAST Kashmir was the Chief Guest of the event. Prof. Haroon Rashid Naik, Director Planning SKUAST Kashmir was the guest of honour. The event was also attended by Sr. Scientist & Head KVK Shopian, Head AARC Pahnoo, Dr Mir Mohammad Amin, Chief Agriculture Officer Shopian, Mr Farooq Ahmad Reshi, District Programme Manager NRLM, Mr Irfan Bashir, Scientists of KVK Shopian, Board members of Apple FPO Keller, technical staff of KVK Shopian and most importantly the trainees of the training programme.
Dr Mir Shabir Ahmad welcomed the dignitaries and participants and coordinator of the training Programme Dr shabeer Ahmad Ganie briefed the audience about the highlights of the training programme. Afterwards two participants presented feedback of the training programme. Sr. Scientist and head KVK Shopian, Dr ZaffarAfrozBadri stressed on the importance of the training programme for upliftment of the trainees. Chief Agriculture Officer Shopian highlighted different schemes which are in vogue in the department regarding Mushroom Cultivation and promised due support from the department.
Entrepreneur Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat shared his experience which boosted the morale of participants. Director Planning SKUAST Kashmir, Prof. Haroon Rashid Naik in his remarks stressed upon the importance of reducing the cost of cultivation in making a venture successful. Besides he stressed upon exploitation of local resources like pruned wood for cultivation of costly Mushroom (Shitake Mushroom). Director Extension SKUAST Kashmir, Prof Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi in his address congratulated KVK Shopian for conducting the week long skill training successfully and framing two self-help group of the participants.
Moreover he sought collaborative efforts of KVK Shopianwith all the agriculture & Allied departments and NGO’s to continue for the betterment of farming community. Lastly certificates were distributed among the trainees by the dignitaries and the programme was ended with the formal vote of thanks by Dr. Bilal Ahmad Pandit.
