SERB Sponsored Workshop on Regenerative Medicine inaugurated at SKUAST Shuhama

Srinagar: A Seven Days High End Workshop on “Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Veterinary Regenerative Medicine quot; was inaugurated Tuesday at Faculty Outreach Centre, FVSc & AH, SKUAST- Kashmir Shuhama.
The workshop is being organized by Division of Veterinary Clinical Complex, SKUAST-Kashmir and is sponsored by Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India under its Accelerate Vigyan Scheme. The workshop is being held from 28 th Nov. to 5 th Dec. 2022, wherein 25 postgraduate scholars from various institutions of the country are participating and hone their skills on the theme.
Prof. Nazir A Ganai, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST Kashmir was the Chief Guest in the inaugural session of the workshop and was accompanied by Director Research, SKUAST-Kashmir, Prof. Sarfaraz Ahmad Wani; Director Extension, Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi; Dean, FVSc AH, Prof M Tufail Banday, Prof. Jalal D. Parrah, HeadVeterinary Clinical Complex; Dr. Mudasir B Gugjoo, the event organizer on the dais. In addition to the participants, the event was also attended by various Heads of Division, former faculty and other dignitaries including the Registrar, SKUAST-Kashmir.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Nazir A Ganai congratulated the organizers of the event for conducting the Workshop on an important theme that is considered to shape the future of therapeutics in near future, a step towards personalized medicine.
Vice Chancellor appreciated the presence of participants from across the country especially from National Institutes like ICAR-IVRI. He further highlighted the various achievements of the University and threw light on future plans for SKUAST Kashmir. Prof. Nazir emphasized on the need and importance to hold more such events pertaining to the theme in context to its collaborative nature.
Earlier Prof. J.D. Parrah, formally welcomed the guests and participants while Dr. Mudasir B Gugjoo, Event Organizer gave a brief account about the workshop and its upcoming sessions. The compendium of the workshop was also released during the inaugural session by the dignitaries on the stage consisting of various lectures scheduled to be delivered in the coming days on the theme. It is worth mentioning here that the workshop will have lectures from national and international renowned and eminent experts of repute. The inaugural function ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Shahid Hussain Dar, Assistant Professor at Veterinary Clinics.
