Awareness programme on role Agro Advisory Applications held at KVK Malangpora

PAMPORE: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Malangpora organised a one day farmers awareness programme at KVK Malangpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
KVK Malangpora in collaboration with Agromet field Unit, SKUAST-Kashmir, Shalimar Srinagar organised a one day farmers awareness programme on “Role of user friendly Agro-Advisory Applications for benefit of farmers at KVK Campus Malangpora.
The programme was attended by Prof and Head KVK, Dr. Javed Ahmad Mugloo, HOD Agromet field unit, Dr. Sameera Qayoom, Senior faculty member of FoH SKUAST-K Dr. Ashaq Hussain, Scientific and non-teaching staff of the KVK, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The programme was also attended by 30 farmers including some Agro entrepreneurs.
Prof and Head KVK Malangpora Javaid Ahmad Magloo, apprised the farmers with the overall theme of the programme and laid stress upon the farmers for utilizing the weather applications in Agri and Horticulture field and its importance in present scenario.
Earlier Javaid Magloo interacted with farmers on the occasion.
Dr Sameera Qayoom gave comprehensive details on IMD weather applications like Meghdoot, Damini and briefed the farmers about the role of agromet advisories in farming. Dr. Ashaq Hussain deliberated upon adoption of different agronomy practices for reducing the various crop losses and increasing the quality yield. The session was followed by farmer scientist interaction and was concluded by vote of thanks by Dr. Afsah Nehvi, Prof. Home Science.
