I received a call on Friday evening from a house owner that they saw a Levantine Viper (Gunas) inside the house. We reached there in 25 minutes,” Aliya told Kashmir Reader, adding they retrieved the Levantine Viper.
“This was a challenging task because the rescue was to be carried out during night but thanks to the young locals of the place who helped me to locate this. It was a big Levantine Viper. It is most venomous. I appeal to locals not to throw garbage around their houses because it attracts rats and the snake follows rats,” Aliya Mir, project manager and education officer, SOS wildlife, told Kashmir Reader.
