PAMPORE: District Mineral Officer Pulwama (DMO) Majid Aziz has seized 45 vehicles used in illegal mining and transportation of raw materials from different areas of Pampore and Pulwama district during the raids in the last 24 hours.
A team of officials from Geology and Mining Department Pulwama laid a major crackdown at various locations of Pampore and Pulwama areas and seized 45 vehicles for illegal mining and transporting illegally.
DMO Pulwama Majid Aziz told Kashmir Reader that he along with his team conducted raids in different areas including Khrew, Shar Shali, Ladho Pampore, Kakapora, Newa, Karimabad, Pulwama, Lassipora, Reshipora and other areas of the district to check illegal mining, extraction and transportation of raw materials.
During this night raids 45 vehicles including tippers, dumpers and heavy Earth moving machines used in illegal mining, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted were seized.
These vehicles were being used in illegal mining, extraction, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted during this operation.
He said that all of his staff has been put on alert to monitor illegal mining in the district.
The operation against the illegal mining and transporting is going on in different areas of the Pulwama district.
