GOC Lt Gen Gupta flags in Ladakh Cycling Expedition

Srinagar: Ladakh Cycling Expedition, planned to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, was conducted by Parashu Warriors from 5th August to 15th August, a statement issued by the army said.
The expedition was flagged off from Galwan War Memorial on 5th August and it planned to cover 540 Kilometers, traversing through the treacherous and high altitude areas of Ladakh while paying homage to the sacrifice and valour of bravehearts who laid down their lives for the motherland in these icy frontiers.
The team was also joined in by Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, GOC Fire and Fury Corps during the most arduous stretch from Tangtse till Chushul. Enroute, the team interacted with community members sharing with them the role of Indian Army towards nation building, spreading awareness about employment opportunities in Indian Army and screening motivational war movies for school children. Community members and children demonstrated their support for the cause by cycling with the expedition team during certain stretches.
The expedition was flagged in by Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, GOC Fire & Fury Corps at Hall of Fame, Leh on 15th August. He interacted with the team members and applauded them for their indefatigable attitude and phenomenal fitness levels.
