DC Bandipora reviews Muharram arrangements

Bandipora: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora today chaired a meeting of officers at Sumbal to review arrangements for the ensuing holy month of Muharram-ul- Haram.
On the occasion, threadbare discussion was held regarding the arrangements put in place to ensure smooth conduct of the religious activities during the holy month.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed on making proper arrangements and asked officers to ensure all pending works are taken up on priority.
The DC stressed upon officers to make timely and proper arrangements for repairs of link road especially roads where processions are held ,drinking water, power, sanitation, medical facilities, ration, firewood, etc.
He directed the concerned to ensure adequate supply of potable water and uninterrupted electricity during the holy month.
He said district administration has devised proper plan to ensure all religious gatherings and processions are held smoothly and peacefully
Dr. Owais Stressed on maintaining proper hygiene and cleanliness around Imam Baras and procession sites and also instructed SDM, Tehsildars and concerned officers to visit all prominent places of Shia community in the district and ensure proper arrangements.
He said medical teams along with ambulances shall be deployed to ensure proper medical facilities to mourners.
The representatives of the religious bodies of the Shia community submitted a list of demands and suggestions for appropriate and early action.
The Deputy Commissioner on the occasion assured the representatives that all arrangements shall be put in place well in time all their genuine issues shall be resdresed on priority.
The meeting was attended by Chairman District Development Council Ab.Gani, DDC Members, ASP Bandipora Ashiq Hussain Tak, SDM Sumbal Dr. Bashir Lone, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Chairman MC Sumbal and Hajin, Tehsildar and BDOs of Sumbal Sub division and representatives of religious organisations of Shia community and other concerned.
