Market Checking conducted in Khrew, Pampore markets, fine recovered

PAMPORE: Ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha, the department of Food Civil and Consumer Affairs along with Enforcement Agencies conducted a market checking at Khrew area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district Tehsil on Saturday.
The joint team led by TSO Pampore Ayash Farooq and TSO Enforcement Nazir Ahmad.
On the occasion, the team inspected various business establishments, especially Wholesaler, kiryana, meat, chicken sellers, Bakery, hotels, restuarant, vegetable and fruit vendors and destroyed expired items.
On the directions of Additional Commissioner Pulwama Sheikh Enayat Ahmad, a joint market checking squad of Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) and Enforcement Agencies held a market checking in Khrew markets, TSO Ayash Farooq told Kashmir Reader.
During the drive, the teams conducted inspection of various business establishments including vegetable, fruit sellers, Meat Shops, Chiken shops, Kiryana, Bakery, hotels and other vendors.
During the inspection, realized a fine of Rs 2600 from erring shopkeepers and rotten vegetables, tea spice, expired eatable and other items were destroyed on the spot in the presence of the public.
The team interacted with many people during the market checking at Khrew wherein they have been told not to pay more money than the price fixed by the government. However the black marketers as well as hoarders have been asked to refrain from such nefarious designs during the EID period otherwise strict action shall follow against them.The checking was aimed at ensuring the quality and price control and to keep vigil on erring traders, he said that such drives will continue to ensure quality of commodities. He also urged shopkeepers not to violate the rules besides displaying the rate lists at their respective shops.
He also requested the general public to contact the department in case of rate violation in the Saffron Town and Khrew town, he said.
Meanwhile, the Revenue department Pampore conducted a market check in the Saffron Town Pampore area of Pulwama district on Saturday.
Ahead of Eid Ul Adha, on the directions of Tehsildar Pampore Zubair Ahmad Bhat, revenue department Pampore led by Naib Tehsildar Pampore Javaid Ahmad conducted market checking in various markets in Saffron Town Pampore.
The inspection team checked the various business units including, mutton shops, chicken, fish sellers, kiryana shops, vegetable vendors and others were checked during inspection.
The inspection team also checked the quality, hygienic condition, expiry and rate lists of Food items and other essential commodities in the Saffron Town, officials told Kashmir Reader.
A fine of Rs 2100 was also imposed on various shopkeepers.Tehsildar Pampore Zubair Ahmad Bhat already requested the general public to contact the department in case of rate violation in Saffron Town.
