Block Health Mela held at Wakura, Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: Health Department Ganderbal today organized a Block Health Mela in Block Wakura, here which was inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, Khurshid Ahmad Shah.
The Health Mela was attended by CMO Ganderbal Dr. Afroza Shah, Various District officers, School children, Asha Workers besides Sarpanches and panches of the Wakura area.
The Mela witnessed huge overwhelming participation of locals who availed the facility of free medical OPD diagnosis, tests and free medicine.
On the occasion stalls of various departments like Food Safety, Ayush, ICDS, Youth service and sports etc. besides various medical specialties OPD stalls were erected for locals viz Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Mental Health etc.
On the occasion, ADDC inspected various stalls set up by the Health department and appreciated the department’s efforts for bringing Medical facilities to the doorstep of common people.
The daylong Health mela was organized under the overall supervision of CMO Ganderbal.
A dedicated stall was also kept for locals for the registration of PMJAY Golden Card.
During the programme awareness was spread regarding various schemes offered by various departments and people were urged to take benefits of such schemes including Ayushman Bharat Health Card.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC highlighted the importance of organizing block health melas and urged the locals to take benefit of the services provided in these melas. He stressed the health officials to generate mass awareness regarding various centrally sponsored schemes of the health department particularly Ayushman Bharat Golden Card and appealed to the local public to take benefit of such schemes.
