FoA SKUAST-K Wadura establishs Nutritional Garden

Srinagar: A mega transplantation drive of vegetables was held on 28th March 2022 in the side lawns of girls hostel of wadura campus. Program was organised under by banner of *Adventure and Nature club* of FoA, formed recently for the students and supervised by Students Welfare Officer of the faculty. Earlier in the conference room of, Dean FoA Prof Raihana Habib Kanth explained students the benefits of natural farming and how students get know how by engaging themselves in such programs in their leisure time, which has an everlasting impact on the development of good personality traits.
HoD horticulture Prof imtiaz ahmd, Chief Warden Dr Saad, Farm Manager Dr Amjad Masood, Scientist I/c Estates Dr Mushtaq Ahmad, Dr Iqbal Makhdoomi and Students Welfare Officer Dr Ajaz Qureshi were also present during this program.
HVC Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai has appreciated the efforts of faculty of Agriculture for establishing *Nutrition Garden (grow your own food)* with the purpose to make resident students self sustainable.
Earlier the vegitable seedlings for the said program was handed over to 1st year students by Prof. Raihana in presence of hostel boarders, Scientists and other staff members of the faculty. These seedling were bought from the final year students undergoing Experimental Learning. Buyer seller meet occurred at the poly-tunnels where freshers were acquainted with seedlings of different vegetables and herbs.
