4 drug peddlers booked under PSA in Pampore

PAMPORE: Four notorious drug-peddlers have been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) by Jammu and Kashmir Police in Saffron Town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Police district Awantipora on Thursdays, police official said.
A police officer told Kashmir Reader the four notorious drug peddlers booked under PSA and the drive against the drug peddlers continue in the Saffron Town Pampore area.
Acting tough against Drug Abuse and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society Police in Pampore booked four notorious drug peddlers under the Public Safety Act after obtaining formal orders from the competent authority.
The identifications of the accused persons are as
Mohammad Ayoub Akhoon son of late Bashir Ahmad, resident of Tulbagh Pampore, Tariq Ahmad Mir @ Tariq Tiger son of Abdul Salam, resident of Tulbagh Pampore, Lateef Ahmad Wani @ Lateef Kala son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Kadalbal Pampore and Yawar Yousuf Sofi @ Yawer Kandru son of Mohammad Yousuf, resident of Kadalbal Pampore, a police officer told Kashmir Reader.
Pertinent to mention that all the four persons were involved in many NDPS cases .
Despite their involvement in many FIRS the accused were promoting drug Abuse Trade by supplying drugs to local youth in Pampore area.
Local residents and civil society members of the Pampore area appreciated the role of Police for the action against drug peddlers.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse.
