Department of Social welfare Pulwama organize Psycho social counseling for youth in collaboration with BDO Aripal Tral

PAMPORE: Department of social welfare Pulwama under the supervision of DSWO Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Dar organized a Psycho Social counselling programme under youth engagement and outreach initiative in collaboration with BDO Aripal at sub division Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.
During the programme experts from District hospital Pulwama, Mahila Shakti Kendra, Women Development Corporation Pulwama provided awareness on schemes of Mission youth operated by various departments for unemployed youth of the district, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The programme was organized to invite the attention of youth towards various employment avenues,entrepreneurship for self sustainability at various levels. The locals have been informed that District administration Pulwama in respect of implementation of Mission youth initiatives is very keen to see the unemployed successful in every sphere of life.
Expert from Addiction treatment facility Pulwama Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir spoke on drug addiction causes, Risk factors ,early identification and intervention.
The participants were given exhaustive knowledge of Drug menace and related measures taken to curb this menace.
BDO Aripal Farooq Ahmad Mir sensitized about drug addiction ,and how drugs and other intoxicants pose a serious threat to our society with dangerous consequences, how this compaign aims to curb the menace of drug addiction in our society.Various causes behind drug addiction,drug trafficking its effects on society. The need of the hour is to have a collective approach to get rid of this drug menace he said,
Minsha Ahad Women welfare officer Mahila Shakti Kendra highlighted Mission youth initiatives like Mumkin,Tejaswani, PMEGP, Customized livelihood generation scheme , Spurring entrepreneurship,and women centric schemes viz a viz Marriage Assistance, etv she said focus is also being laid on Skill development of youth and providing them avenues to establish their own business units so that youth may become self dependent, a social welfare officer told Kashmir Reader.
District coordinator MSK Mehrusa Farooq spoke on initiatives of the government. For women empowerment, she sensitized the participants regarding their rights and powers while laying stress on women empowerment.
Rayees Ahmad District coordinator Women development corporation talked about various women centric schemes provided by their department and how they can avail benefits and entitlements from them. He said all girls get an equal opportunity to explore themselves and should be supported by their parents & society.
During the programme 250 locals , Tehsil Social welfare officer Trial, MSK staff,counselor of ATF district hospital Pulwama , District coordinator Women development corporation, officials from social welfare department Pulwama attended the programme.
