POONCH: District Development Council Chairperson Poonch, Tazim Akhter on Saturday reviewed the progress of works under District Development Plan/ District Capex budget for the year 2021-22 and Area Development funds here at a meeting attended by DDC Vice Chairperson, Mohammad Ashfaq Chowdhary; Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet and heads of line departments.
The meeting took sector wise review of projects being executed by PWD (R&B), PHE, PDD, Minor Irrigation, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Youth Services and Sports, Health, Urban development, RDD, besides works undertaken by different executing agencies under DDC, BDC and PRI grants.
Status of work wise tendering process, allotment of works, started works on ground and works completed were discussed in detail in the meeting.
The DDC Chairperson laid thrust on speeding up the pace of execution to complete the works in a time bound manner. She directed the concerned officers to resolve the issues related to forest land in a coordinated manner.
The Vice Chairperson stressed upon early tendering of the approved works for their timely completion. He discussed the progress/physical achievement under district capex budgets and appreciated the progress of different departments.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned to complete all ongoing works by Feb 28, 2022. He also directed the DTO for early disbursement of the pending bills in the treasury.
The ACD, ACP and all BDOs of 11 blocks were asked to submit the bills of completed works in the treasury after proper verification.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all the district/sectoral officers to put in best efforts for maximum utilization of funds under different schemes. He asked ADDC to personally monitor the quality and quantity of all taken up works.
Reviewing the performance of the Ground water department, the Deputy Commissioner asked the officials to seek approval of Gram Sabha to change the location of hamdpump installation due to any hurdle.
The meeting was also attended by ADDC, Poonch Abdul Sattar; ACD, Rajesh Lakhan; CPO, Madan Lal; CEO Tourism, Dr. Mohammad Tanveer; ACP, Shafiq Mir; CEO Education, Abdul Majid; CEO Municipality, Mushtaq; CMO, Dr. G.A Malik; AD Planning, M.A Khna, Executive engineers of different department, AEE’s, JE’s besides concerned officers/officials were present.
