Citizens Council Tral stage protest against acid attack on girl

PAMPORE: A candle light protest was held by members of Citizens Council Tral at main town Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday evening to denounce the acid attack on a girl in Srinagar few days ago.
The Candlelight protest against acid attack on a girl was led by Citizens Council chairman, Farooq Ahmad Trali.
Dozens of members from Citizens council and many Shopkeepers participated in the protest at main town Tral. They raised slogans and demanded strict action against the culprits, a local sources told Kashmir Reader.
The protest Citizens Council members were holding ply cards reading “Save Daughters, Punishment Acid Culprits, Ban Acid Sale, Hang Culprits’.
Talking to Kashmir Reader, Chairman Citizen Council chairman, Farooq Ahmad Trali said that they held the protest to demand a ban on open sale of acid in the market.
” with ban on open sale of acid in the market, we demand strict punishment for the culprits. The case be decided on a fast track basis and a jail term of more than 10 years be given to the guilty persons,” he said.
He also appealed to people to render psychological and financial support to the victim’s family.
Chairman Trali also sympathised with the family members of the victim.
The Chairman and other members also appreciated police for nabbing the culprits in a short period of time.
Police Srinagar have already arrested three accused persons involved in the acid attack case and seized the shop for illegal sale of the acid.
