Prof Talat inaugurates Refresher Course in Arts, Humanities at KU’s HRDC

Srinagar: A Refresher Course in the disciplines of Arts, Languages, Law and Humanities started at the University of Kashmir.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad inaugurated the online course, organised by the varsity’s UGC- Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC).
In his presidential address, Prof Talat stressed on conducting such courses frequently to enable more teachers to benefit from the expertise and experiences of various renowned experts from within and outside Jammu and Kashmir.
He said teachers should attend such courses for their overall personality development and also to stay updated with the latest trends and practices in their areas of specialisation.
The Vice-Chancellor also urged the teachers to undertake socially-relevant research so that society as a whole is eventually benefitted.
Prof Mushtaq Ahmad Darzi, Director HRDC, while thanking Prof Talat Ahmad, spoke about the importance of such courses. He also gave an overview of the role that HRDC plays in the academic elevation of the teachers across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). He thanked university authorities for their continuous support.
Around 35 participants from various universities and colleges across the country are enrolled for the current course.
Course Coordinator Dr Musavir Ahmad from Department of Linguistics, KU, presented the structural framework of the entire course.
The inaugural session ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Sumeer Gul, Coordinator HRDC, who also moderated the session.
