Sumbal: The residents of Sarie Dangerpora Sonawari on Tuesday held a protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) for failing to repair the transformer .
Dozens of residents assembled on the road and blocked the Srinagar –Bandipora highway which affected the traffic for hours together to press for their demands .
The protesters said that they are protesting against PDD Department Sumbal ,alleging it failed to provide them adequate transformer facilities.
They said that the transformer provided to them isn’t sufficient for the population and is getting damaged after every ten days.
Added that authorities at PDD Department aren’t listening to their demands hence they got compelled to come on roads.
Protestors appealed to the LG administration to look into the matter so that they won’t have to suffer furthermore.
