South Kashmir Pencak Silat championship begins at GDC Pampore

PAMPORE: Opening ceremony of two day South Kashmir Pencak Silat Championship was held at Indoor Stadium Government Degree College Pampore here on Tuesday.
The championship was inaugurated by SSP Awantipora Mohammad Yousuf who was the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony.
Principal GDC Pampore Prof Seema Naaz and SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad, DySP DAR DPL Awantipora Fayaz Ahmad, SHO Pampore, Mohammad Younis Khan, Silat Association members were also present on the inaugural ceremony.
The championship is being organised by Pencak Silat Association Jammu and Kashmir and sponsored by district police Awantipora in collabration with government Degree College Pampore.
About 300 students of different age groups fro South Kashmir are taking part in the championship.
Speaking on the inaugural ceremony SSP Awantipora Mohammad Yousuf assured the participants that every kind of assistance will be provided by district Police Awantipora to boost the sports activities in Police District Awantipora.
The championship is amid to developing better police public relation and is held under Civic Action Programme of Jammu and Kashmir Police, SSP Awantipora said.
