Astan Mohalla Pampore declared containment zone after detection of two COVID positive cases

PAMPORE: Administration in Pampore on Thursday evening declared the Astan Mohalla area of Saffron Town Pampore as Containment zone in view of detection of two fresh Covid-19 cases.
The Containment zone was declared after two Covid positive cases of a family in the area.
A joint team of health and revenue officials Pampore headed by Tehsil official Mir Murwat Hussain visited the containment zone area. The team members installed banners warning people not to enter/exit the containment zone area, officials told Kashmir Reader. He said that samples of many people were collected in the area.
Talking to Kashmir Reader Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din said one of the infected has travel history to a foreign country.
“In view of international travel history and his contact reporting COVID positive, we declare Astan Mohalla Namblabal as a Containment zone,” Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi ud-Din said.
He requested people to follow precautions and adopt COVID appropriate behaviour to prevent onset of third wave of COVID.
Dr Mohammad Ashraf, RMO Sub District Hospital Pampore, told Kashmir Reader that one person with a history of international travel history was detected COVID positive on 27 of December and next day on 28 December his sister in law was also detected as COVID positive.
“Positive cases have been shifted to DRDO hospital Khonmoh for hospital quarantine and samples have been collected from their 65 Primary and Secondary contacts as of today,” he said.
