CUK’s Kashmiri dept hoists cultural programme

GANDERBAL: The Programme was witnessed by Vice-Chancellor Central University of Kashmir Ganderbal Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah, along with him, Dean faculty of Languages & Literature Prof. Gayas-ud-Din, Coordinator Department of Kashmiri Dr Irfan Aalam and other faculty members Dr Nazar Ali Nazar, Dr Samreena Geelani and Dr Imtiyaz Mustafa were also present.
The eminent guests were formally welcomed by the student of the Department of Kashmiri Shaista Hamid by presenting a welcome address. Nevertheless, students performed various items, including Wanwun, Gazal, Qawalli, Ladishahetc, that enthralled the audience. While talking on the occasion, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Central University of Kashmir Ganderbal Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah mentioned that the Department of Kashmiri is yet to complete a year. Still, the efforts put in by the Coordinator and other faculty members of the Department of Kashmiri speak volumes. He further mentioned that it was quite overwhelming to witness such an event with brilliant performances of students.
Such events are used to refresh our minds, and such Programmes should be organized in the future. Dean Faculty of Arts Prof.Gayas-ud-Din mentioned that he had travelled to almost every state of the country, however such an enthralling Cultural and aesthetic event hasn’t been witnessed by him ever. He congratulated the Department of Kashmiri for organizing such a fabulous event. The event was wrapped up by a Thanksgiving note presented by a student of the Department of Kashmiri, namely Saima Mohi du din. The whole event was moderated by one of the students of the same department, namely Nadim Shoqia.
