J&K Bank staff contributes for colleague affected by Dachhan cloudburst

SRINAGAR: J&K Bank’s employees contributed over Rupees Thirteen lacs for their colleague Mohammad Iqbal Tantray who lost his son and daughter along with his home in a catastrophic cloudburst that struck Dachhan area of Kishtwar during the intervening night of July 27 and 28 this year.
Mohammad Iqbal lost his youthful children – Tauseef Iqbal (25) and Alveena Tabassum (21) – in the tragic calamity that left him devastated besides washing away many other houses along with the inmates.
President J&K Bank Officers Association Mehraj ud Din Shah and President J&K Bank Workmen Union Haji Farooq Ahmad, representing the entire Bank’s officers and workmen staff, presented the cheque to Mohammad Iqbal at the corporate headquarters today in presence of President HRD Chetan Paljore, Vice-President HRD Anup Bhat and other officials of the Bank.
Commenting upon the event, the Bank’s President HRD Chetan Paljore said, “We, at J&K Bank act as a family and have always been at the forefront to help each other in times of distress. Even though this is a humble contribution and in no way can compensate the irreparable losses that our colleague has suffered in the tragedy, but this is a gesture of profound compassion along with the message that we stand together firmly with the bereaved staff member and his family.”
“This bond of kinship based on mutual affection and compassion truly reflects the strong and humane credentials of this institution”, he added.
Appreciating the gesture of organizational kinship, Mohammad Iqbal thanked the Bank’s management and entire staff for their heartfelt sympathies and financial support, saying, “I know that my loss is irreparable but the kind of solidarity and support that my bank’s management and staff has extended, since the tragedy, has certainly helped to lessen the pain of my personal grief. One really feels part of a larger extended family for which I thank you all whole-heartedly.”
