KU’s DSW organises awareness programme to mark

International Anti-Corruption Day

Srinagar: Department of Students Welfare at the University of Kashmir on Thursday organised an awareness programme in connection with the celebration of International Anti-Corruption Day. Former Vice-Chancellor Central University of Kashmir Prof Mehrajudin Mir and former Dean Students Welfare KU Prof Afzal Qadri were chief guest and guest of honour, respectively, on the occasion.
Prof Mir and Prof Qadri spoke about the role of different stakeholders in curbing corruption, even as they highlighted the aims and objectives of celebrating the International Anti-Corruption Day 2021.
The theme of the day was, “Your right, your role: say no to corruption”.
The guest speakers said corruption affects different segments of the society and impairs growth and development of countries very badly. Dean Students Welfare Prof Raies A Qadri highlighted aims and objectives of the day-long event and also threw light on how different sections of the society can come forward and join hands to eliminate the menace of corruption from the society.
On the occasion, the participants read out the anti-corruption pledge and vowed to fight corruption in all its forms and manifestations.
Dean School of Earth Sciences Prof Shamim A Shah also spoke during the event, which was attended by students and officials of the University.
Cultural Officer KU Shahid Ali Khan conducted proceedings of the event.
