Srinagar: The J&K Team Red, a premier NGO of youth on Sunday kick-started its yearly winter blanket donation campaign, which aims to provide relief to those who lack in resources to brave the ongoing winter chill.
Flagging off the the yearly donation drive, Chairman Team Red said that the annual blanket drive is the part of team’s year long effort to come to the rescue of have nots.
” This year we chose to start from Ganderbal District for the annual drive. Our District Team from Ganderbal had already a proper survey. Subsequently it was decided to distribute the blankets in the Kondabal area of Ganderbal District. It is pertinent to mention that that the donation will be done on the merits of the case,”he said.
Later the team headed by Chairman Saadat Nasir Wani left for the hamlet where the drive was to be undertaken. Among others Shakir Shafi, Humaan Bhat, Mubashir Khwaja, Anwar Ali (District Coordinator Ganderbal), Faraaz Qadri, Adnan Faried, Faiq Wani, Wariq Gulzar, Aaquib Bashir, Iqbal Wani were also present. Special Guests on the occasion were Mushtaq Mir and Mehraj Ahmad.
The team members head by the chairman distributed the blankets in a courteous manner.
