SRINAGAR: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner SMC Athar Amir Khan to review and discuss Solid Waste Management .
The consultant firms namely All India Institute of Local Self Government , IPE Global, TASSU were present in the meeting.An important discussion was held on Door to Door waste collection disposal of waste.
On occasion suggestions were sought from these prominent consultancies for installation of underground bins, setting up of garbage transfer stations, Installation of litter bins, besides setting up of vacuum processing facilities including composting of waste.
The meeting further deliberated upon implementation of approved action plan under National Clean Air Program via viz procurement of state of art Vacuum cleaning vehicles/ machines, installation of fountains on road intersections and installation and commissioning of Air Quality monitoring system in the North of Srinagar city.
The meeting was attended by Joint Commissioner Works, Secretary DMC,Exn Mech, Exn Right River Works, Exn Left River Works, Chief Sanitation Officer, Chief Transport Officer.
