SRINAGAR: On the 36th Foundation day of Indira Gandhi National Open University which is celebrated on 19th November every year. On this occasion, FFriday IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar organized a foundation meet in the office of Regional Centre Srinagar. Through the launched Whatsapp number, social media connectivity for our enrolled IGNOU learners and prospective learners will get a lot of benefits in terms of multiple information, academic activities and counseling services in time and promptly. The purpose of launching Whatsapp service in Kashmir Valley is to give an additional advantage and better student support services to our enrolled learners which are the inhabitants of far flung areas. Whatsapp service will be proactive in providing assistance, feedback, help and guidance to the aspirants, learners and prospective learners. This initiative will enhance more efficiently, effectively and better the student support services to provide immediate response and redressal of grievances of the learners. Moreover, Regional Centre Srinagar is already having Facebook, twitter, igram, telegram and land line number viz 0194-2953017 for the assistance and student support services to the learners of IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar.
The Regional Director, Regional Centre Srinagar briefed about the role of IGNOU played in the decades for imparting education across the nation as well as at the international level. Regional Director Srinagar congratulated the founders of Indira Gandhi National Open University and thanked competent authorities for providing a largest Open Distance Learning (ODL) Education across the country with better access and better student support services. On the occasion Regional Director, Srinagar has revealed the inception period of Regional Centre Srinagar, which is almost two decades in its existence, is well being supported by IGNOU Headquarter that resulted in a better Regional Centre in terms of enrollment number and student support services.
On the 36th Foundation day occasion the whatsapp number of IGNOU, Regional Centre Srinagar has been inaugurated by Regional Director Dr. Kamlesh Meena and officially has been handed over to Incharge Student Support Services Regional Centre Srinagar for providing social media access to the learners enrolled at Indira Gandhi National Open University. The student support services Incharge and staff have assured Regional Director that the better social media services will be facilitated to the learners at their end, so that the learners will not feel any hardship to get the redressal of their grievances related to their pursuing programmes. At the end the Regional Director, Regional Centre Srinagar Dr. Kamlesh Meena gave compliments and thanked Regional Centre Srinagar staff on this auspicious day to remain present despite the national holiday.
