BARAMULLA: In connection with Children’s day, an impressive function was organised by the Department of Pediatrics, Government Medical College, Baramulla heretoday.
The function was attended by the faculty including staff members, para medics and students.
The programme was well educative and informative during which the participants were made aware about the life style of the children.
The speakers appealed the parents and other guardians to take care of their children. They said that children are our future so all of us have the responsibility to ensure good health, good atmosphere and good environment to our children which they deserve.
Regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, the speakers impressed upon the parents to keep face masks always with their children and adhere to all other necessary instructions being issued time to time to protect these children from various infections. They stressed for providing better food and nutrition to the children.
They also stressed to keep children away from cell phones, TV’s and other social evils which can harm their health. The children have the right to be kept fit both mentally and physically which is imperative for a healthy society, said the speakers.
The participants were also educated with regard to significance of breast feeding of children and it was also informed that the children should also participate in outdoor activities besides keeping them away from junk food items, to maintain proper cleanliness etc.
