Theatre Workshop Concludes in Tagore Hall

Srinagar: A 5 days Theatre Workshop organized by Actors’ Creative Theatre (ACT) in collaboration with Wings Cultural Society (New Delhi), came to end on Friday, at Srinagar.
The concluding function was held in Tagore Hall, Srinagar.
The workshop was held on the topics like Theatre Exercises, Speech and Diction, Scene Improvisation, Performing Skills, Script Reading / Writing and Body Language.
Actor and Director from Delhi Tarique Hameed was the Director of Workshop.
Tarique Hameed began his theatrical endeavour in 2004. He is a Theatre Director, actor and a faculty at Shri Ram Centre, New Delhi. He has directed plays like Topi Ki Dastaan, The Wave, Mahabhoj and many others under the banner of Wings Cultural Society which has featured at prominent festivals in India. He has also featured in various Short Films, TV shows and Movies. He is well known for his performance in the TV show ‘India Bolega’ on Anjan TV.
He formed Wings Cultural Society in 2009 dedicated to socially relevant theatre. The group participated in the 8th Theatre Olympic, Lucknow Literature Festival, 15th and 17th Bharat Rang Mahotsav among several others.
Tarique said: “This is my first visit to Kashmir. I feel grateful about coming here and directing a theatre workshop, the best way to visit Kashmir for me.”
He added: “The opportunity to meet people from this part of the world and sharing the rehearsal space gave way to a great experience and learning.”
He further said : “For me conducting workshops for these aspiring actors was a job, in which I told them what I have learnt all these years and in return learnt from them. They may not know that I learnt from their expressions, the way they talk, move etc. but I can use it for my character portrayal in my field, Theatre.”
Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, Chairman & Creative Director of Actors’ Creative Theatre (ACT) said “I am very happy to organise such activities of performing Arts in my own region. It gives the aspiring theatre Artists and a chance to learn more about this art. I will continue to take such initiatives in future as well. He further said that he will tirelessly work to continue to promote all the forms of Art and Culture in Kashmir. This gives me satisfaction and artistic pleasure.
Mr. Tariq Javaid was the chief guest and he distributed the certificates amongst the participating students, along with the Guests of Honour, Waheed Jeelani, Mushtaq Bala, Shaikh Haneef, Gul Javaid and Gulzar Bhat.
The Chief Guest Tariq Javaid and other Guests present in the appreciated the initiative of Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, his organization Actors’ Creative Theatre and also extended their gratitude to the visiting Director Tarique Hameed.
