IUST hosts Three Day Webinar on ‘Latest Trends in Nursing Education’

Awantipora: Three Day webinar on ‘Latest Trends in Nursing Education’ organised by Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology, a constituent college of Islamic University of Science and Technology concluded on Monday. More than 1300 participants which included principals, professors, teaching faculty, clinical nursing officers and students of various nursing colleges of India USA, Canada attended the webinar. Chief Nursing Education Academia USA Dr. Ruth Robert, Assistant Director Nursing division MoHFW GoI, Dr Rathi Balachandran, Dr Usha Mullich Ukande & Dr Geeta Sinha from Nursing care continuum New Delhi, Principal Saraswati Nursing inst. Punjab Dr Raman Kalia, Principal Sharda University Prof. Urmila Bhadarwaj, Director of Health Science IGNOU Prof. Pity Kaulm, Assistant Professor AIMS Rishikesh Rakhi Mishra were keynote speakers during the webinar.
Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Mehmooda Regu, while addressing the participants gave a detailed account on nursing education in preparing nursing professionals for promotive, preventive, and rehabilitative aspects of health care. Prof. Regu appreciated the organisers and faculty for success of program. She highlighted the experience of organising the webinar which was 2nd of its kind in J&K. She emphasised its utility in terms of knowledge gain for faculty, Ph.D scholars, M.Sc. and B.Sc. nursing students and participants.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof. A. H. Moon appreciated the work done by nursing professionals in challenging situations especially during COVID pandemic. Registrar IUST Prof. Naseer Iqbal discussed about the development and research conducted and guided by nursing faculty of the college.
During scientific sessions extensive deliberations were held on latest trends in e- learning, e-education in nursing education, virtual simulation technology, video assisted practical global nurses with transitional acceptance.
