VMS organized sport event

SRINAGAR: Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS) organized a Sports event in its premises at Bemina on Thursday for persons with disabilities. Players from various districts of valley participated in different games like wheelchair basketball, badminton, volleyball, wheelchair cricket etc.
Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gull attended the event as chief guest. She interacted with the players and appreciated their resilience to mitigate their sufferings and reduce their dependency by actively participating in such events. She lauded the role of VMS for its tireless and continued efforts to rehabilitate and lessen the sufferings of persons with disabilities.
She also praised VMS for providing a conducive and favourable platform for such persons wherefrom they can excel their talent and become valuable members of the Society.
Honorary Secretary General Indian Red Cross Society Kifayat Ullah Rizvi attended the event as guest of honour. He also appreciated the efforts of VMS for rendering its services to the differently abled persons. The Indian Red Cross Society distributed Hygienic Kits amoung the patients.
President Voluntary Medicare Society thanked the Secretary Sports Council and Secretary Indian Red Cross Society for attending the event and encouraging the players.
He reiterated the need that voluntary NGOs like VMS should be provided all possible help by the Govt. to accentuate the process of rehabilitation and well-being of persons with disabilities.
The event was supported by International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC).
