Man-eater leopardess captured alive by wildlife officials in Sebdan Budgam

BUDGAM: The leopardess who mauled to death the 10 years old boy at Haran Village has been captured alive by the Wildlife department during Saturday night time at Dooru Seban area in Central Kashmir Budgam district.
The locals from the Sebdan area told the Kashmir Reader after they have seen the roaming of the Leopards in the area, they informed the wildlife department regard this problem, in which the Leopard cub was captured on Friday, however the mother of the leopard cub was successfully captured during the Saturday night time by the wildlife department.
Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Block officer from the Wildlife Control room Chadoora told the Kashmir Reader after we captured the leopard cub in the Sebdan area on Friday. We put this leopard cub into the cage and the cage was placed into the same location where this leopard cub was caught alive. ” During Friday night, the mother of the leopard cub came to the spot to search for her baby, but she did not enter the cage in which the leopard cub was placed , ” He said.
Bhat said that on the Saturday night time, the wildlife department swung into action and were successful in catching the Leopard alive who had mauled to death a 10 year old boy from the Haran village on 17th September.
“This female leopard has become dangerous for the local population, after it has killed a 10 year old boy. Now people will get relief, as the department has captured a leopard and his cub alive which has become a serious concern to the local population especially childrens, ” Bhat said.
“The leopard and his cub have been sent to the Dachigam National Park at Srinagar, where the wildlife department is properly taking care of these wild animals, ” He added.
