Six doctors in SDH Sopore found absent, enquiry ordered

Sopore: Six doctors were found absent from their duties in sub district hospital (SDH) Sopore by a team of officials here.
Officials said that by the directions of deputy commissioner (DC) Baramulla, a team of officials headed by Tehsildar Sopore made a surprise visit to SDH Sopore and checked attendance of doctors and other para medical staff. During checking the team found at least six doctors including Dr Mohammad Ashraf Consultant Surgeon, Dr Mohammad Sultan MO, Dr Mohammad Saleem Chesti, Dr Mudasir Nazir, Dr Mohammad Rafi and Dr Dawood Ahmad Sheikh absent from their duties. In this regard the official team submitted the report along with a daily attendance sheet to Block Medical Officer Sopore for information and further necessary action.
The officials said that BMO Sopore started an independent enquiry in this regard, so that action can be taken against the absentees.
Meanwhile, the local people alleged that this is not the first time when doctors were found absent from their duties, they said most of the doctors are remain absent and they are attending patients at their private clinics. They appealed district administration Baramulla to take strict action against the absent doctors.
