DC Bandipora reviews progress of RDD works

Bandipora: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad Tuesday reviewed the status of works taken up by the Department of Rural Development Department under different centrally sponsored schemes.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner adipora Afsar Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development Abdul Rashid Dass, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats Bandipora, Altaf Hussain Mosvi, Executive Engineer,REW, PDD, Jal Shakti other senior officers of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon execution of Works under various flagship programmes as per sanctioned estimates and their completion within stipulated time and as per the latest instructions communicated by the Government. While reviewing the works being carried out by Panchayat Raj Institutions , Deputy Commissioner directed all the concerned sectoral and district officers to furnish the pending estimates of all the works related to Capex, DDC, BDC and PRI grants within three days failing which strict action shall be initiated against the officers.
The meeting was informed that estimates of 1192 work being carried out by DDC members, BDC members, Panchayats and works being executed under capex.
On the occasion, DC Bandipora directed the officers to expedite the ongoing works and initiate new works in every village under MGNREGA to generate more man days for the benefit of unemployed unskilled youths of the villages. He urged them to complete the spillover works of last year on priority besides expediting work on new works taken up. He asked them to maintain the ratio of labour and material component strictly as per the set guidelines.
He said the aim of the MGNREGA scheme is to provide jobs to the unemployed and unskilled youth of the villages besides making durable assets in the village under this scheme. He urged the officers to start works in every village so that jobs are provided to the people under the scheme as they have suffered amid COVID19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns.
He also directed the officers to follow the precautionary measures while working to avoid the spread of COVID19.
