SRINAGAR: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and recovered huge quantity of contraband substance from his possession.
Police Station Mattan received a specific information through reliable sources that one person namely Manzoor Ahmad Yatoo son of Ghulam Mohammad Yatoo resident of Mattipora Nanil has indulged in peddling of narcotic substances and has hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house.
On receipt of this information, a team comprising of DySP Hqrs Anantnag, SHO Mattan and Executive Magistrate raided the specific house and recovered 45 Kgs of Poppy Straw from the said house. The accused person have been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.79/2021under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Mattan and further investigation is in progress.
