Kalakote: Department of English in Collaboration with EBSB Club and Literary Club organized an Online National Conference on the topic, “The Life: Biography and Literature under the guidance of Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal GDC Kalakote. At this occasion Prof. J.P Singh Joorel, Director, INFLIBNET, Gandhi Nagar, Gujrat was the Chief Guest, Prof. Rahul Gupta, Rector, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu and Prof. Shalabh, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, IIT Kanpur were the guest of honour and Dr. Vishaka Chauhan, Assistant Professor English at S.S Jain Subod P.G (Autonomous) College Jaipur was the keynote speaker.
The programme was started by Dr. Naseer Ud-din Sofi (HOD) English. He invited the patron for this event, Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, for the welcome address. Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, the Keynote speaker and other participants from different colleges and universities. He said it is the need of the hour to highlight the importance of life, and literature as it is considered as a mirror of society. He further added that literature reflects our doings, gives us knowledge and wisdom and help in developing ourselves. The Chief Guest and Guest of honour also expressed their views regarding the theme of the conference and appreciated all the faculty members of the GDC Kalakote for their hard work and dedication.
Speaking at the event Dr. Vishaka Chauhan, the key speaker, gave a detailed lecture on the theme The Life: Biography and Literature. She focused on the relationship of the life of an author with literature and said literature is the mirror of society and indicates whatever is happening in the society we can describe it in today’s literature. She also emphasized on the fact about feminism and its consequences which leads to disaster in society.
