BARAMULLA: Two boys lost their lives while taking bath in nearby ponds in Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.
Official sources said that a group of boys were taking bath in a pond in Divar area of Lolab Kupwara in which a 10-year-old Yawar Ahmad
Ganai son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganai drowned. Later, people reached the spot and shifted the unconscious boy to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Similarly, in another incident a boy identified as Asif Ahmad Khan 15 son of Ashiq Ahmad Khan resident of Chandigam, drowned in a pond when he was taking bath in the water body with his friends. Later teams of police and local people retrieved the body and handed it over to his family for last rites after all legal formalities.
