Black bear was captured in a Handwara village

HANDWARA: A black bear was captured by the wildlife department in Taratpora village of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Officials in the department said that after receiving information of the presence of a black bear, a team of officials reached the Taratpora village where a black bear was found on a walnut tree, after a lot of efforts the bear was finally tranquilized and captured. They said four black bears were captured in different areas of the district in less than a month.
The local people said that there are many other areas where wild animals are roaming and created create fear among the local residents in the area.
