BARAMULLA: A minor boy was injured after being attacked by a leopard in Tangmarg sub division of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday evening.
Official sources said that a minor boy identified as Inaam Ahmad Mir son of Muzzaffar Ahmad Mir resident of Gulab-Dajie village of Tangmarg was outside of his home when a leopard attacked him.
The family and other people present around rescued and minor chased the beast attacking it with sticks and stones.
The injured minor was just shifted to nearby sub district hospital Tangmarg for treatment, where he is said to be out of danger.
The officials of the wildlife department said that the village falls very close to the forest area ,where leopards and black bears can enter residential areas, the people are requested to be vigilant mostly in morning and evening hours. They however said that a team of officials will visit the area to catch the beast.
