Leopard sighting at Konibal Pampore, Wildlife dept launches operation to trap animal

Pampore: Wildlife department officials launched a search operation to trap a leopard that along with two cubs has strayed into Chatlam Konibal area of Pampore.
Wildlife officials told Kashmir Reader that they received information from locals regarding the presence of a leopard and two cubs in the area.
“Yesterday evening a call was received that a leopard along with two cubs were roaming in Lalpora Chatlam, immediately a rescue team reached the spot,” a Wild official, Mudasir Ahmad told Kashmir Reader adding that in morning footprints were found and search started to track and trap the animals.
He further said that a cage has been installed, we are hopeful that the leopard will be captured soon.
Range Officer Wildlife department Khursheed Ahmad told Kashmir Reader as soon as the information was received, teams to capture them were dispatched with necessary equipment.
Earlier, wildlife officials captured two leopards in the Munpora area of Pampore.
