Director Health Services visits Kulgam, inaugurates ‘Training of Trainers’ for Covid-19 management

Srinagar: Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather Tuesday visited Kulgam and inaugurated ‘Training of Trainers’ program for healthcare workers which is aimed at containment of Covid-19.
A spokesperson of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir said the Director inaugurated the training program ‘Training of Trainers’ in the district.
The director also visited district hospital Kulgam where he took stock of the Covid management, emergency ER rooms and the oxygen plant.
The spokesman said Dr Mushtaq interacted with the healthcare staff and patients.
During the visit, the director instructed Chief Medical Officers to constitute teams of specialist doctors at block level who will train from each village including ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, ANMs (AAAs).
He also instructed that from each village, Lambardars, panch members, two teachers, two religious leaders and volunteers shall be trained for basic Covid management.
“A team of 15 people should be made who shall be trained in basic Covid management and subsequently they shall be reaching out to people in generating awareness regarding Covid, vaccination and shall help people in basic Covid management,” the director said.The teams would be taught basic Covid management and domiciliary oxygen management in terms of how to use oxygen concentrators, plus oximetres and thermometers since various patients are in home isolation.
He said this way the healthcare management will reach each and every person and will eventually help in Covid mitigation.The director also instructed that more and more focus should be given on testing and vaccination as has been desired by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education Department, Atal Dulloo.
