BARAMULLA: Police on Thursday said that they seized illicit timber in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s police district Sopore.
Police said that they received an information through reliable sources regarding smuggling of an illicit timber at village Dalri Rafiabad. A team of police station Dangiwacha headed by SHO inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad under the close supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Nissar Ahmad rushed to the spot and recovered 08 logs of illicit timber from the house of Tariq Ahmad Malik son of Ghulam Rasool Malik of Dalri Rafiabad.
In this connection case FIR number 105/2021 under section 379 IPC and 6 Forest Act was registered at police station Dangiwacha and further investigation has been initiated. Police appealed general public to extend cooperation to the police and come forward with any information regarding any kind of illegal activity in their neighborhood.
