Officials warn strict action if crop not destroyed voluntarily

Pampore: Tehsil administration Pam pore along with Excise department destroyed illegal cultivation of poppy crop raised on agricultural land in Pampore Tehsil on Saturday.
The eradication drive was carried on many kanals of land falling in Samboora and Aloochibagh areas of the Tehsil.
Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary the two departments jointly carried out this drive.
He added that we have strict directions from the government that offenders be booked under NDPS Act, calling upon any cultivators to destroy their standing illegal crop immediately or be ready to face legal action.
