Baramulla: One person was killed while another one received serious injuries in a road accident in Kunzar Tangmarg area of Baramulla district on Tuesday afternoon.
According to sources two vehicles, a tipper under registration number JK03B-2973 and a car bearing registration number JK01R-9304 collided in Wussan area of Kunzar Tangmarg resulting in the injury of two people in the car. The injured were shifted to nearby hospital where a 24 years old youth Irshad Ahmad Ahanger son of Farooq Ahmad Ahangar of Wahipora Tangmarg succumbed to his injuries while another person Maqsood Ahmad Ahanger son of Ali Mohammad Ahangar is in hospital battling for life.
Local people of the area said that the tipper driver escaped from the spot after the accident.
Meanwhile, police station Kunzar registered a case under relevant sections of law and further investigation is on.
