8 shopkeepers, 8 drivers booked, many fined for violating lockdown in Pampore, Khrew

PAMPORE: Police in Pampore and Khrew areas of Pulwama district booked eight shopkeepers, 4 tippers and a light motor vehicle driver in different FIR’s.
Many vehicle owners were also fined in Pampore and Khrew area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district for violating the corona virus lockdown restrictions.
A Police team led by SHO Khrew Adil Ashraf and SHO Pampore, Mohammad Younis Khan found these shop keepers violating government order on COVID restrictions.
“The shopkeepers had opened their businesses despite the restrictions at Khrew and Pampore,” SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
He said Police Pampore has registered a case FIR under relevant sections in this regard
Many vehicles which were plying on the roads without pass/permission were also fined for violating restrictions.
Check points were laid at Galander, Kadlabal, Pulpar Kadlabal, Drangbal, Khrew Chowk and near EDI areas of Pampore scores of vehicle drivers were penalised for defying lockdown.
SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by government in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 “those who violate the restrictions will be dealt strictly,” he said.
