BARAMULLA: 18 people arrested and dozens of vehicles were seized by the police for illegal mineral excavation during Covid 19 curfew and lockdown in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police said that besides carrying arrets, 13 tippers, 6 tractors and one mobile vehicle was seized.
All these vehicles were put into the service after taking advantage of lockdown and Covid curfew, the involved people not only violated the SOP’s, they also put the lives of thousands of people at risk.
They said cases under relevant sections of law have been registered.
Baramulla police once again request the general populace of district Baramulla to stay inside as far as possible, and venture out if it is absolutely necessary.
