250 more beds to be added within a month: DC Pulwama

PAMPORE: Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhry on Wednesday visited COVID health centre in Samboora area of Pampore where he inspected various facilities being available to COVID patients.
The Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tral Shabir Ahmad Raina, Additional Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shawl, Chief Medical Officer Pulwama Dr Haseena , Block Medical officer Pampore Asma Nazir, Registered Medical Officer SDH Pampore Dr Mohammad Ashraf, Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, Tehsildar Awantipora Mohammad Altaf and other concerned officers.
“Today COVID health centres in the district were assessed,” Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary told while talking to Kashmir Reader. ” We carried out a practical exercise to see how lives of people can be saved and how patients will be psychologically counselled,” he said, adding that they plan to add around 250 more beds in the district.
” Within a month we will be adding 200 to 250 more beds along with staff and supporting facilities,” he said, adding that the district hospital in Pulwama, which is dedicated COVID Hospital, is catering to more than 90 percent patient load from Pulwama and Shopian. ” The referral to tertiary care has been reduced as patients are taken care in the hospital,” he said.
The Deputy Commissioner Pulwama stressed on general public to give priority to their lives.
“Health is wealth and at this moment Pulwama people should stand together to defeat COVID-19, people must follow SOP’s and modify their individual behaviour to defeat COVID-19, otherwise we are bound to suffer and more lives will be lost,”.
