Admin declares 3 areas as micro containment zone in Pampore

200 positive cases reported in medical block Pampore

PAMPORE: Administration in Pampore on Thursday declared three areas of Pampore town as micro containment zones in view of detection of fresh Covid-19 cases.
Three areas in the Tehsil Pampore have been declared as micro containment zones. The decision was taken after many cases were reported in the area.
Officials said that the three micro containment zones declared were Sir Syed Colony Kadlabal area of the town, Sheikh Mohalla, New Colony area of Khrew.
A joint team of health and revenue officials Pampore headed by Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din visited the containment zone. The team members installed banners warning people not to enter the containment zones, officials told Kashmir Reader.
“We declared three areas micro containment zones as these areas witnessed a good number of positive cases during the past few days,” Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader.
He said that they have received reports that some positive patients are roaming till late night which is clear violation of Covid19 regulations.
“We warn them to desist from such activities, otherwise they will action against it. I appeal people to follow all the guidelines to save their and others’ life,” he said.
Spike in Covid-19 cases continued in Pampore Medical Block continued on Thursday as the number of cases almost doubled.
Registered Medical Officer Dr Mohammad Ashraf told Kashmir Reader that about 200 more cases were detected on Thursday out of 420 .
Out of the 420 cases 200 were detected through RAT and RTPCR.
Hr said that the increase in the number of cases was due to increase in the number of tests being carried.
