DC Pulwama interacts with religious leaders, civil society members

Asks them to sensitize people about Coronavirus, safety measures

ULWAMA: Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary on Thursday visited Saffron town Pampore and held an interactive meeting with prominent religious leaders, Imams, Khateebs, Auqaf members, and civil society members regarding Covid safety measures to be followed to stay Corona free.
The meeting which was held in the premises of Municipal le Committee Pampore, was attended by SP Awantipora Mohammad Yousuf, Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora, Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad, Nodal officer district hospital Pulwama Dr Gowhar, BDO Pampore Aflaw Ahmad, Executive officer Municipal Committee Pampore Mohammad Iqbal, SHO Pampore Mohammad Younis Khan and other top officials.
While addressing the religious leaders, Imams, Khateebs and other local Masjids, DC Pulwama and SP Awantipora said that they have a key role in the battle against the new wave of Covid-19. “Our main aim to meet these people was to discuss how to contain this deadly virus in the town. Since, corona lockdown is about to begin, only essential services will be allowed during that period,” he said.
Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary urged them to use their influence to ensure that every person follows the Covid19 appropriate behavior, uses mask, maintains hand hygiene and keeps social distance while they are out.
“Our officials at checkpoints will be available to facilitate the people who need them or require any kind of assistance. We at the same time, request people to not come out of their houses unnecessarily,” he said.
