CUK establishes Department of Kashmiri

SRINAGAR: The Central University of Kashmir has established the Department of Kashmiri at the varsity.
Following SOPs the ceremony was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Central University of Kashmir Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din Mir and attended by Dean School of languages Prof. Mohammad Gayasud din, Inchage Controller of Examinations Dr Zahoor Ahmed Najar and Coordinator Department of Kashmiri DrIrfan Aalam, including faculty and students of the department.
The formal procedure was graced by Tilawat-e-Quran followed by Naat-i- Nabwi (S.A.W) then poetry of sheikh- ul- Aalam added more glow to this ceremony. Welcome note was addressed by coordinator Department of Kashmiri DrIrfanAalam in which he formally welcomed Vice-Chancellor Central University of Kashmir Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din Mir and all other dignitaries, faculty and students of the department of Kashmiri. He accredited the Vice-Chancellor for actualizing a long pending dream of its establishment and applauded him for the establishment of the department.
Dean school of languages’ Prof Gayasud Din while addressing congratulated and highly praised Hon’ble vice-chancellor and all other members associated with this department. Speaking on the occasion Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor reinforced the need for dedication and hard work and sincerely hoped that the department would touch the heights very soon and urged students and newly recruited faculty to work vigorously which can turn out to be fruitful for the whole University. He highlighted the importance of the Kashmiri language and its rich culture and heritage and urged everyone to promote the Kashmiri language which determines our identity and assured his unconditional support for the betterment of this department.
The Registrar Muhammad AfzalZargarcould not attend due to some other official engagements, but his role in setting up the department of Kashmiri was also appreciated and recognized. This outstanding ceremony was concluded by thanksgiving note by one of the newly recruited Assistant Professor Dr Ali Mohd Dar as he formally thanked Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and other dignitaries for this historical move and he assured that we will work day in and day out so that this department would fly with its true colours. So, this event was a huge success and the memories of this colourful and historical event will be indelibly printed on our hearts.
