SKUAST-Kashmir holds technology dissemination camp for tribal farmers at Bandipora village

SRINAGAR: SKUAST Kashmir has organized a Technology dissemination camp for tribal farmers at far flung areas ofKudara,Bandipore under the project activities sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India.
The Principal Investigator of the Project Prof. PankajGoswami addressed the participating tribal farmers of the area and briefed them about scientific management of dairy animals for optimum production and distributed improved varieties of fodder maize seeds to the farmers for demonstration in their fields. Around 40 tribal farmers from the locality have attended the camp.
The camp was attended by the expert Dr. Nazir Ahmad Mir from KVK Bandipora and Dr. Basharat Maqbool Wani from FVSc&AH, Shuhama who provided technical know-how on health management of dairy cattle as well as on fodder fortification and preservation technology. The technical also tried to inculcate the entrepreneurship idea amongst tribal farmers to take up the complete feed block manufacturing technology.
