Police arrests 2 notorious drug peddlers in Anantnag, contraband recovered

Srinagar: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Anantnag have arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
On specific information, officers from Police Station Dooru established a checkpoint at College road Dooru and intercepted two persons identified as Saqib Mushtaq Seh son of Mushtaq Ahmed Seh resident of Arabal and Owais Ahmed Wani son of Javid Ahmad Wani resident of Khudhamam. During checking, officers were able to recover 445gms of Charas and 14 bottles of Codeine from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 22/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Dooru and further investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
